This is a "Premium" Nokia CARK-91 handsfree car phone kit installation into a 2002 model VW Passat with a GAMMA factory fitted head unit and VW's own Dynamic Amp system.
The Nokia CARK-91 phone cradle was mounted on a Dashmount console bracket
It is possible to mute the stereo on this vehicle without an Autolead, but, for full “Premium” through stereo operation, a VW GAMMA Autoleads Cellular Telemute interface lead is required. There is only one lead you can use on cars with the VW Dynamic AMP system fitted, the Autoleads 06-105B. This is fine with the Nokia CARK-91 kit that uses a direct external antenna connection but is not suitable for kits that use a passive antenna coupler on the cradle due to interference issues during a phone call.
The microphone was mounted centrally up by the interior light and the cable was routed away neatly beneath the headlining.
A DG-542-F flexible Tax Disc type antenna was used for a more covert installation.
