This was a "Basic" Nokia CARK-91 handsfree car phone kit installation in a 2001 model Toyota Avensis.

The handset cradle swivel mounting bracket supplied with the car kit was screwed into the left hand side of the centre console fascia. This is often requested by companies to save a little cash on "No holes" mounting bracket options. There are Dashmount and Brodit Proclip mounting brackets available for the Toyota Avensis and we find that the console mount option gives the neatest installation as the cable can be routed under the ashtray area.

The Nokia car kit speaker was mounted on the left hand lower centre console fascia. It is also possible to route the audio through the cars front two speakers with the addition of an Autoleads Cellular Telemute Interface lead.

The head unit on this car does not support radio muting without the use of an Autolead as there is no mute facility at the rear of the head unit on older cars!

The microphone was mounted in a central position on the headlining near the rear view mirror and the cable was neatly routed beneath the headlining. A Panorama Glassmount antenna was also used and mounted on the rear windscreen. You can also use a Tax disc antenna on this vehicle as well.
