This is a "Premium" Nokia CARK-91 handsfree car phone kit installation into a 2001 model Rover 75.
The Nokia cradle was mounted on a Dashmount console bracket. Whilst this gives a good mounting position, it does obstruct the cup holder’s operation and makes it redundant, due to the bulky one piece nature of the centre console, this can make hiding the cradle cable very difficult. There is an OEM phone holder bracket available from Rover which replaces the cup holder with a combined phone mounting bracket and cubby hole, it is possible to hide the cable really neatly with this setup. You can also get a Brodit Proclip bracket or a colour coded leather phone pod to overcome this problem.
Most of the early Rover's do not have the facility for radio mute and so the Autoleads Cellular Telemute Interface lead can be configured to switch the stereo off when you make a call. This can be a problem if you have a Sat Nav head unit fitted as it powers this down too and it takes a while to boot up. This only happens with the newer V3 module leads, and, unless you can get hold of the old style BMW Autolead (no longer in production) this cannot be overcome!
A Panorama Glassmount antenna was fitted to the rear windscreen but you can also use a Tax disc type on this vehicle as well. The microphone was mounted next to the interior light with the cable neatly routed beneath the headlining.
