This is a "Premium" Nokia CARK-91 handsfree car phone kit installation into a 2003 model Rover 75 with satellite navigation and Smartnav.
The Nokia cradle was mounted on an OEM Rover phone mounting bracket which replaces the original spring out cup holder and provides a useful cubby hole and is the neatest method apart from a phone pod for hiding cables. You can also get a Dashmount console bracket which gives a good mounting position, but it does obstruct the cup holder’s operation and makes it redundant, due to the bulky one piece nature of the centre console, this can make hiding the cradle cable very difficult.
This Rover 75 had Satellite Navigation and has ISO connectors and a phone mute buried behind the centre console. We used an Autoleads Cellular Telemute Interface lead to mute the stereo and route the audio through the cars front two speakers, the radio does not display anything when muted. The part number of the lead we used was the 06-050B but some cars have the BMW connector on a control unit in the boot so it is well worth checking this before starting the installation. Another company told the customer that this level of installation could not be done, we proved them wrong and the customer is absolutely delighted with the end result.
We used a DG Flexi Tax disc type antenna on this vehicle for a more covert and tidy installation. The microphone was mounted next to the interior light with the cable neatly routed beneath the headlining.
This car also had Smartnav installed which is combined with traffic master, this allows the driver to be connected to the call centre at a push of a button for up to date congestion reports to allow the driver to avoid traffic jams. This unit was already installed when we got to the car.

Customer Comments
"After being told by a few companies that my car phone kit could not be installed into my Rover 75 with the phone audio being routed through my Rover Sat Nav system I contacted Sio Communications. They assured me that this was indeed possible and an installation was booked. The whole job took around two hours and the finished result looks to me like it had been installed at the factory".
