An "Executive" installation of the Nokia CARK-91 Hands Free car phone kit into a Renault laguna II 2004 model with a Cabasse Auditorium head unit with Sat Nav.
The Nokia CARK-91 cradle was mounted on a custom made, colour coded, leather phone pod.
An Autoleads Cellular Telemute Interface lead 06-114B was used to route the audio through the car stereo system, this was possible as the car has the part pre-wired renault phone interface plug under the centre console trim as well as the dual cone speaker under the right hand speaker grille (next to steering column). The radio mutes during a call and audio is routed through the small dual cone speaker to the right of the steering wheel. On this setup, you will hear the Sat Nav instructions even though a phone call is in progress, we know this because we physically tested the scenario during a short road test.
The Nokia HFM-8 mic was mounted up beside the centre light with the cable neatly routed beneath the headlining.
Most 2001 onwards Renault cars come with a factory fitted "Sharks Fin" body mount antenna at the rear of the roof, and the cable is hidden behind the head unit, we did have to cut the renault specific phone antenna plug off and fit an FME connector to enable connection to the phone kit though, the cable is standard RG58 co-axial cable.
