We do appreciate that not everyone is Technically minded. We do however, provide FREE technical support on any products that we supply to customers who wish to carry out the installation themselves.
N.B. You would be expected to have some technical knowledge yourself, we will not supply a complete A-Z of how to install your car kit, but we will offer assistance where appropriate should you get stuck. Please ensure you have all your vehicle and car kit details to hand when getting in touch with us and a 12 volt automotive test lamp or multimeter available for testing and configuration purposes.
If you are in any doubt about your own ability to install any of the products available from the online shop, you should always get a professional Installation company or Auto electrician to do the job for you!
If you are not a Technically minded person we do have an Installation Service .
Motorola are well famed for their complex and compact phones. All the models featured on this page are Tri-Band models which use 900/1800/1900 MHz GSM frequencies (1900 MHz for use overseas).
The HFK 7200 kit supports the “L” series of phones. It has radio mute and auto power down facilities but requires an adapter for use with an Autolead.
Depending on which version of the kit you get, either the B or C variant, a Dashmount bracket is recommended. The C variant has an awkward long swivel bracket which will not angle more than 70 degrees (useless for basic installations!) This has been superseded by the D variant which has a much better bracket and can now be screwed on and swiveled through more than 90 degrees!
There is facility for an external antenna and the connector is of the mini UHF type rather than the Standard FME type used by all other manufacturers. This kit does support the T250 and T260 Timeport phones and the phone connector lead is of the coiled cord type (except the new D variant which has a straight cord!).
