A "Mid Range" Nokia CARK-91 handsfree car phone kit installation into a 2001 model Jaguar X Type.
The Handset cradle was mounted on a Dashmount console bracket to the left of the stereo head unit. As the dash is really soft the cable was run between the radio and the dash for a neater installation. You can also get a nice high quality colour coded leather pod as well for a factory fitted finish but they are more expensive than the Dashmount bracket.
There was not an Autolead available for this vehicle at the time the installation was done in 2001 so the speaker was hidden under the left hand side centre console trim. Autoleads do now manufacture Cellular Telemute Interface leads for the Jaguar X-Type for both the Sat Nav and standard stereo types. The parts numbers are 06-079B and 06-082B respectively.
The microphone was mounted in a central position next to the interior light with the cable routed neatly behind the head lining and a Panorama Glassmount antenna was mounted on the rear windscreen but you can also use a tax disc type antenna on this car.
