This is a "Premium" Siemens HKW-600 Bluetooth handsfree car phone kit installation into a 2003 model Honda Civic Type-R.
The HKW-600 remote control display unit was located top dead centre of the centre console at the customers request. This also allows us to make a really neat job of hiding the cable.
An Autoleads Cellular Telemute Interface lead the 06-087B was used to route the audio through the car stereo system. As this was a Siemens kit we also had to use 06-206B and 06-221B adaptor leads. The phones audio volume is controlled either directly via the handset or via the remote control display. Voice dialing can also be initiated with the remote display. The phonebook can also be uploaded to this kit. After installation the HKW-600 was successfully paired with a Nokia 6820 and a Siemens S65 handset.
The Siemens mic was mounted up by the interior light and the cable neatly routed under the headlining. This kit does not support an external antenna but you can get a cradle upgrade pack for it just like the Nokia CK-7W so that you can also use it as a conventional non bluetooth car phone kit. Unusually the kit does not disconnect when the key is out the ignition until you walk out of range of the car kit and it then powers down automatically, it does automatically pair when you turn on the ignition.
