A "Premium" Installation of a Sony Ericsson HCB-30 Bluetooth car kit in an Audi TT with amplified Bose Concert stereo system.
This kit is very covert and only has the small remote button visible and the mic, which was located up by the centre light. It is possible to fit an ordinary cradle type kit as well to the TT and we would normally use a leather pod to mount the handset cradle onto and a tax disc type antenna as well.
It is possible to interface with the radio using an Autoleads 06-118B Telemute lead even although the unit is Bose amplified, this is because the radio automatically sets the phone audio volume and is one of the only amplified head units that allows this to be done. As all Autoleads are to the Nokia standard 6 pin Molex power plug design we had to use a special adaptor lead to convert to the connections required by the HCB-30 which is the 06-215B.
It should be noted that you will have to set up the voice tag feature of your handset in order to use this kit legally, you cannot hold the handset whilst driving. If you make a lot of outgoing calls you may wish to consider a cradle to secure your phone or even a more conventional kit with a cradle.
