This is a "Premium" Nokia CARK-91 handsfree car phone kit conversion using a new EVO cradle to turn the kit into a Pop Port one suitable for Nokia's latest handsets into a 2004 model Audi A3 with a Symphony II head unit.

The Nokia cradle was removed and the EVO cradle was plugged into the control box and antenna to turn this CARK-91 car kit for the 6310i into a kit capable of accepting the newer Pop port Nokia phones such as the 6100. There was already a Dashmount console bracket fitted which gives a good mounting position, but we did have to modify the bracket a little to accept the EVO cradle bracket as the mounting holes are slightly wider apart than the Nokia one.

We also removed the original Nokia speaker and routed the audio through the stereo using an Autoleads Cellular Interface lead for audio and mute input only the 06-119B. As this was a later model Symphony II head unit we also had to fit a 5k resistor on the speaker input to avoid distortion of sound. "PHONE" is displayed on the radio during a call.

There was already a DG Strip type antenna installed on this vehicle for a more covert and tidy installation.

The microphone was mounted next to the interior light with the cable neatly routed beneath the headlining.

The Nokia mic had been poorly positioned when the original installation was been done by another company. We relocated it in a more suitable position up beside the centre light for a clearer voice path from the driver.
