You will have to locate the following connector behind the glovebox or passenger 'A' panel on Vauxhall cars to use this lead .
Vauxhall cars with a stereo lower than a 400 or that have not been fitted with this loom will require a 26 Way GM ISO lead , either the 06-053B or the 06-094B depending on stereo model. The 26 way lead is best left to a competent technician due to the configuration required and the difficulty in fitting. Some of the Latest 2002> Vectra 'C' models have this VDA loom plug secured to the top right of the glovebox opening. Cars that don't will require the 06-115B or 06-078B lead which involves removing the stereo which can be quite tight to remove but is "Plug and Play". The VDA interface is normally only fitted to 2002 onwards cars if you pay extra and specify it at the dealers when ordering the car.
This lead is designed to work with the 400 and above series of head units from Vauxhall but may not work with some Basic model cars fitted with a 400 stereo such as Astra cars. We have found that nearly all Vectra SRi's and Astra SRi cars are pre wired for this lead, the relay is fitted to the reddish brown relay plug screwed to the top metal bar above the glovebox opening on Vectra's and is fitted to the fuse box on the drivers side on Astra's and Zafira's and the relay position is marked with a white outline. You are advised to check that you are getting 12 volts constantly from the red wire on this lead with a test lamp, on some cars it may be required that you fit a fuse to the fusebox. On the Zafira this is usually fuse number 19.
Bose amplified models. We found recently on a new Vectra 'C' with Bose that the audio was distorted. Using an 06-212B isolating transformer that is usually used on Saab cars cured this problem. These are available as separate items from the online shop.
