This lead is designed to work only with Jaguar cars fitted with standard or Sat Nav amplified systems with the Alpine Amp in the boot. It will automatically mute the sound from the stereo during a call. Most 2004 onwards cars have dropped the ignition switched live feed at the rear of the stereo in favour of the new CAN BUS system. This means that you may have to run a separate ignition switched live to either the cigarette lighter, fuse box or glovebox light feeds on these cars.
The lead is fitted in three parts, the main part with the two relays connects to the amp in the boot of the car. The kit also includes an 06-207B 5 metre power and speaker extension lead that needs to be run from the rear loom, to the front of the car, and splices into the third part of the loom that directly interfaces with the rear of the stereo.
This lead does not integrate with the Factory radio or steering wheel phone controls! This is only available as a Jaguar Factory/Retro fitted installation.
