This lead can be configured to use the mute if there is one available but usually comes preconfigured to switch the radio off during a call, this should be checked first before changing any connections. If only the front speakers mute then it will require either a mute connection on the radio or to be configured to switch off during a call. If the lead switches off the radio, then if there is a mute, this should be reconfigured by swapping the red ignition wires back before attaching the mute wire. You cannot have mute and switching off wires connected at the same time or you will blow the V3 module! Also Do not use an automotive testlamp to check for the radio mute on this vehicle on the plug itself, you may damage it! If there is no clearly marked telephone mute wire, use the switch off method!
This lead is designed to work with Mitsubishi cars that DO NOT have standard ISO connector aftermarket accessory type radios fitted to them such as the Pioneer, Sony, Clarion and Kenwood units. Most recent cars have a labeled Tel Mute wire on the rear.
If you are in any doubt about suitability of this lead please remove your stereo and look at the connectors on the rear, if it has two small rectangular 8 pin black plugs then you will require the 06-050B Universal ISO lead and not the Mitsubishi lead.
It is the customers responsibility to check the connector type before ordering.
