This lead is designed to work with 2002 onwards Volvo head units that have the green power and grey speaker plugs at the rear of the stereo and have the large wedge shaped stereo with a cup holder or cubby hole to the left of it. On Dolby Pro Logic stereo's the Grey speaker plugs are located to the far right of the radio opening covered in foam tape.
This lead (although listed for 2004 onwards cars), should be used with all standard and Dolby units like the one shown in the picture on the top right of the page. These radio's do not have a mute and so the relays on the lead mute the sound from the radio (by open circuiting the speakers) and relaying audio to the front two speakers only. The radio will not display anything during a call!
2004 onwards vehicles have dropped the ignition switched live wire in favour of the new CAN BUS data systems and so there is no longer an ignition at the rear of the stereo, there is a fly lead included with this lead that has a splice in plug for the cigarette lighter socket to supply the switched power feed.
