This lead is only suitable for all Mazda vehicles manufactured after 2001 with factory fitted Bose stereo systems, The lead plugs directly into the rear of the stereo and the relay automatically mutes the sound from all the cars speakers and routes audio through the two front speakers only. Nothing is displayed on the radio when the mute is active.
This lead requires the stereo to be removed on order to install it, it is pretty much "plug and play", there is a thumb wheel adjuster on the relay for adjusting the audio output volume to get the best sound quality but we have found it is usually preset to a good setting and should require minimal adjustment. Radio removal on the new RX8 is very difficult and should really be left to a professional installer!
